IT Project Manager

Dubai, UAE

Role Overview

The IT Project Manager is responsible for the successful planning and execution of technology projects. Acting as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, this role ensures solutions are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to defined quality standards. Based in Dubai, the Project Manager operates in a multicultural environment and plays a key role in enabling digital transformation initiatives across multiple industries.

Key Responsibilities

The Project Manager defines project scope and deliverables, develops schedules and budgets, and leads cross-functional teams through the entire lifecycle. Risks and issues are proactively identified and managed, while stakeholder engagement is maintained through reports and regular meetings. Quality assurance is central to the role, requiring oversight of testing and user acceptance activities. The manager ensures compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations and documents all project activities for accountability and knowledge transfer. Post-project reviews are conducted to capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement in delivery processes.

Qualifications and Skills

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field is required, with five to eight years of project management experience. Certification in PMP or PRINCE2 is mandatory, with Agile credentials considered an advantage. The role demands familiarity with IT domains such as infrastructure, software development, and enterprise systems, as well as proficiency in project management tools. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills are essential, along with the ability to manage multicultural teams in high-pressure environments. Preferred candidates will have regional project experience, advanced certifications, and bilingual ability.

Reporting and Projects

The IT Project Manager reports to a PMO Director or Senior Program Manager and may also report directly to client sponsors for specific engagements. Projects typically include smart city platforms, ERP and CRM implementations, data center migrations, and multi-country system rollouts. The role is Dubai-based with regular travel across the UAE and GCC and requires flexibility during deadlines or go-live periods.
